MIRI, Sept 8: The milling works on the existing pavement in Jalan Tanjong Lobang here is currently in progress and will cover 380 meters of the section.
According to Miri City Mayor Adam Yii when met today after inspecting the progress of the project, the upgrading work is scheduled for completion on Thursday (Sept 9).
The uproject commenced on Sept 6 at a cost of about RM317,000.
“We are using the milling method for the upgrading of this section of Jalan Tanjong Lobang to improve the safety and efficiency of the road and to provide safer driving conditions for motorists,” he explained.
He disclosed that the milling method was also used last year by the Miri Public Works department (JKR) in resurfacing the Miri-Pujut road and a section of road in Piasau heading to Lutong Bridge.
Meanwhile, on another matter, the Council alongside the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (Miri branch) and JKR are closely working together to mitigate flood issues in the city, especially flood prone areas. — DayakDaily
