Jagoi Heritage Trail Run returns for third edition on Aug 28

KUCHING, July 21: Jagoi Heritage Trail Run, which is the first and only race in Sarawak to be featured on the Asia Trail Master Calender 2022 and UTMB Index Race, will be returning for its third edition on Aug 28 this year.

Organised by Grit Event Management in collaboration with Jagoi Area Development Committee (JADC), the trail run aims to showcase Bung Jagoi’s beautiful nature to the trail runners.

Spanning across six different Bidayuh villages in Bau region, the organisers emphasised that the Jagoi Heritage Trail run is a unique trail that offers beautiful scenery for the runners like no other.


“It has attracted runners from all over the world for all the editions due to its challenging yet fascinating course profile,” the organiser said in a media release yesterday (July 20).

Runners can choose from various distance categories, from the challenging 50km to the family-friendly 6km routes that promise to provide runners with a mixture of breath-taking mountainous scenery, while building up experience for more challenging races in the future.

In this year’s event, the top-placed elite male and female runners will split cash awards and sporting goods valued up to RM25,000.

The top five finishers in the 50km men’s and women’s open and veteran races, the top ten finishers in the 20km men’s and women’s open and veteran races, and the top three finishers in the 6km men’s and women’s open races will get prizes, respectively.

The event includes pre-race festivities in addition to the race itself, including a race pack expo where sponsors such as T8 and Kailas will showcase their wares for runners to try out and choose from.
