KUCHING, Aug 11: Anticipate thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds across the central region, especially rural areas, and the northern region, which is projected to persist until 1pm today.
This warning pertains to Sibu (Selangau), Kapit, Bintulu, Miri (Subis and Marudi) and Limbang.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department has released this advisory due to indications of a thunderstorm with rainfall intensity surpassing 20mm per hour.
According to the weather forecast, isolated thunderstorms may also occur in one or two locations such as Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang during the late afternoon.

On Aug 16, morning rain is likely in Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri.

Looking ahead to August 17, the weather is expected to be mostly fair throughout Sarawak in the morning.
Isolated thunderstorms might occur in one or two spots in Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang by late noon.
