KUCHING, June 14: Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the media conference on the Covid-19 (non-health) daily update will be held three times in a week, beginning next week.
He said the daily update on Covid-19 has been held for about three months, at 2 pm daily, since the beginning of the Movement Control Order (MCO) implementation.
“As such, I would like to inform that today, will be the last day for me doing a daily live press conference, including the last day for the weekend live conference.
“Starting next week, the media conference will be held three times a week, which is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday,” he said at a media conference on Covid-19 (non-health) development held in Putrajaya today.
He jokingly added that, after this, there would be no more of his colourful shirt display that was likened by the public to the local “kuih-muih” and beverages.
Ismail Sabri also expressed his gratitude to all those involved in the efforts to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and reminded the public to continue to adhere to the rules and standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government.
These included practicing the new norm such as social distancing, personal hygiene and self-control in order to stay safe.
“I also would like to thank all the parties involved in the efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19, especially the frontliners, including their family members for their understanding.
“Not to forget the sacrifice of the media practitioners for their effort in relaying the information to the public, and also to all Malaysians for abiding to the rules and SOP set,” he added. –DayakDaily.
