Iron rod crushes front end of MPV at Rambungan ferry

LUNDU, June 9: The driver of a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) narrowly escaped injury when a large iron rod suddenly fell on his car, damaging it severely as he was leaving the ferry in Rambungan this morning.

Lundu police chief DSP Damataries Lautin confirmed the incident, which occurred at 8.27am.

Construction works are currently ongoing at the jetty, with workers building new fences as part of an upgrading project.


As vehicles were slowly exiting out the ferry, an iron rod which was being lifted by heavy machinery suddenly fell and crushed the front part of the MPV.

Damataries added that police are currently investigating the incident. — DayakDaily
