KUCHING, April 13: The Interhill Group has reached out for the medical frontliners at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) by contributing food and beverages today.
Since the emergence of Covid-19 in the country, with the number of cases increasing over the past three months, it was widely known that the medical frontliners at SGH have been working relentlessly, it said when commenting on the initiative.
Interhill Group, in a statement, acknowledged that during this outbreak, the frontline team has been on long hours shift to try to help all the patients in their facilities.
They managed to reach out to Hospital deputy director (Medical IV) Dr Noriwanaty Abg Daud to inform their intention and CSR activity.
“Unlike most of us, our medical frontliners do not have the privilege to drop by the supermarket for their ration and groceries, order takeaway or have food delivery in view of their commitment towards the community.
“They often do not have supper or midnight snacks when they are on night shift or heading back to their quarters after a long day’s work in the evening,” the statement said.
“Our medical heroes are fronting the pandemic, giving us their care, taking risk and sacrificing their family time. They stay at work for us, so we must stay at home for them.
“We hope our contribution will be able to ease some of their worries, giving them our fullest moral support and help them regain their energy to face the battle,” it continued.
Meanwhile, Pullman Kuching and Pullman Miri Waterfront have flashed encouraging messages using the hotel’s room lightings in the evening, reminding everyone to practice “Stay Home, Stay Safe”, frequent hand washing, wear face mask and work together to flatten the curve so that everyone can resume a normal life. — DayakDaily
