KUCHING, Jan 5: The operation of Inland Revenue Board (IRB) counters at Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) nationwide will be adjusted to 8am to 5pm on working days without break time except for Friday, effective Jan 15 onwards.
In a press statement yesterday (Jan 4), IRB stated that the new operation hours aim to enhance operation efficiency across the country.
The counters will be closed during weekends, according to the respective State, and on public holidays, according to State and Federal public holidays.
The counters will be closed for Friday prayers, scheduled from 11.45am to 2.15pm in Sarawak, 12.15pm to 2.45pm in Peninsular Malaysia, and 11.30am to 2pm in Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
However, IRB said the operation hours are subject to change under the authority of State IRB, depending on visitor volumes. This ensures a responsive delivery of services and meets customers’ needs.
Customers are encouraged to use online services as an alternative for managing taxation-related matters through www.hasil.gov.my.
