Infant among family of six left homeless as blaze consumes house at Jalan Sg Sian Teluk Bulat

BINTANGOR, Dec 19: A family of six, including a five-month old baby, was left homeless after fire engulfed their house at Jalan Sungai Sian Teluk Bulat today.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that 95 per cent of the single-storey house was destroyed in the blaze.

All residents, comprising three adults and three children, including the five-month-old baby and a seven-year-old boy, were able to escape to safety.


A team of firefighters from the Bintangor Station was mobilised to the scene upon receiving an emergency call at 1.41pm.

The firefighters extinguished the flames at 2.53pm and conducted a thorough inspection of the site to ensure there were no remaining sources of ignition before returning to the station.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the loss are currently under investigation. — DayakDaily
