KUCHING, Feb 6: Covid-19 cases of the infamous Pasai Cluster are reported in seven districts throughout Sarawak today, involving Sibu, Lundu, Song, Dalat, Subis, Kanowit and Bintulu with a total of 77 cases.
According to State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement, Sibu remains the district with the highest daily toll with 32 cases related to the cluster.
The other 45 cases were detected in Lundu (19), Song (12), Subis (7), Dalat (3), Kanowit (2) and Bintulu (1).
With that, the cumulative number of positive cases involved with the cluster now stands at 2,288 and it is the only cluster in Sarawak with a four-digit figure.
SDMC also revealed that out of 22,500 individuals screened, 22,250 were negative and there are 962 samples more awaiting test results.
Meanwhile among the other 13 active clusters in Sarawak, only three registered increases in cases today.
They are the Jun Heng Cluster in Bintulu with one new case, Bintang Daily Cluster in Meradong with one new case and the Tabong Cluster in Bau with three new cases.
The remaining 10 clusters namely the Sebangkoi, Jalan Pengiran, Indah Riang, Bedayan, Rakut, Bukit Sekubong, Jelita, Keranji Tabuan, Bah Sayap and Stutong Clusters did not detect any new infections today. — DayakDaily
