Indonesian woman dies in motorcycle crash in Miri

MIRI, March 10: A 47-year-old Indonesian woman died after the motorcycle she was riding pillion was hit by a car at the Telang Usan Roundabout early this morning.

The woman has been identified as Djurmasih Soroso.


State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said Djurmasih was unconscious when she was brought to Miri Hospital. She died eight hours later.

“The deceased was pronounced dead at 2pm,” said Alexson.

The motorcycle she was riding pillion was heading towards Luak Bay from the city centre when it was struck at the roundabout by a car coming from the opposite direction.

Both the rider and the car driver were unharmed.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
