“The Ujian Penilaian Dual Language Programme Sarawak (UP-DLP Sarawak) is a standardised assessment for Primary 6 and Form 3 students taking part in the Dual Language Programme (DLP) Sarawak.

“This initiative is a collaborative effort by my Ministry, the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE), the Sarawak State Education Department (JPNS), Swinburne Innovation Malaysia (SWIM), and our state-owned universities,” he said at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting here today.

The assessment will cover three core subjects: Science, Mathematics, and English, all aligned with the DLP Sarawak curriculum.

According to Sagah, who is also Tarat assemblyman, the exam papers are locally developed by expert teachers and will be vetted and verified by Cambridge University Press and Assessment (CUP&A) to ensure international quality standards.

“To formalise this partnership, SWIM signed a Contract Service Agreement with CUP&A on April 30, 2025 in Cambridge, United Kingdom, witnessed by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he said.

Sagah expressed appreciation to the MOE Examination Syndicate, JPNS, SWIM, i-CATS, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), Curtin University Malaysia, and CUP&A for their support.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring that the standard of education in Sarawak continues to meet recognised global standards,” he said. — DayakDaily
