KUCHING, Sept 21: The first Borneo Corporate Innovation Summit (BCIS) themed ‘Future Proof Your Business Through Innovation’, a one-day conference scheduled to be held on Oct 13 at the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) Digital Village, will bring together leaders and innovators at the forefront of technology companies to address issues confronting the business world today.
Jointly organised by Sunway College Kuching and Tegas, BCIS is powered by its ecosystem partners namely Sunway Innovation Labs (iLabs) at Sunway University and Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli).
“BCIS will further promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship in the State and position Sarawak as a digital hub in line with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“We hope that government officials, policymakers, corporations, entrepreneurs, investors, and academics will attend the conference, bringing unique opportunities for connection and collaboration,” said Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment and Tegas chairman Datu Len Talif Salleh today at the BCIS press conference at Tegas Digital Village here.
BCIS aims to help enterprises future-proof their businesses, not only by better understanding the importance of innovation as a key driver in economic development, but also by better visualising ways to turn ideas into actionable outcomes.
Through a combination of keynote and interactive panel sessions, the conference brings together 15 visionary corporate innovation thought leaders who will share insights and best practices that address the pressing challenges of an ever-changing world.
Agile in Tandem, Asli, Cahya Mata Sarawak, Cradle Fund, Damansara Holding Bhd, Ficus Group Capital, Harus Saujana Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Business Angel Network (Mban), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (Mdec), Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (Mranti), Sarawak Multimedia Authority (Sma), Sunway ILabs, and Sunway University are among the speakers at BCIS.
In addition, BCIS will focus on three curated content streams: Future of Business, Corporate Strategy, and Corporate Innovation Execution.
Meanwhile, Sunway Education Group chief executive officer (CEO) Professor Dr Elizabeth Lee stated in a press release, “In a Post Covid-19 world, businesses big and small will need to leverage on Big Data, the Internet of Things (Iot), Artificial Intelligence (Ai), and other technologies to increase productivity, stimulate innovation, improve livelihoods, and drive economic growth.
“The discussions at BCIS will provide all participants with valuable insights into the viability of emerging digital innovation in building a better, brighter, and more inclusive digital and sustainable world.”
