SRI AMAN, Nov 6: Emphasising her fighting spirit and determination, Gabungan Parti Sarawak-Parti Rakyat Sarawak (GPS-PRS) candidate Dato Sri Doris Sophia Brodie says she is just as fearless and brave as any man in working towards her goals.

She said regardless of gender, members of the various GPS component parties must work together to realise each party’s aim and to make sure GPS wins in P202 Sri Aman.

The PRS Women chief said this to Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) members during her visit to Kampung Muhibah, Bandar Sri Aman, here today.

She emphasised that each person is entitled to one vote, and thus, GPS must do its best to show them GPS is the right choice so it can win the people’s mandate come polling day.

She lauded the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for working hard to bring development to every part of Sarawak.

Doris reminded those present that the State government had already set up Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) to spearhead a development plan for the area until 2030.

She also reminded voters not to allow such development to slip away and to go to waste, as it is for the benefit of the people of Sri Aman.

“We must not only have the GPS State assembly members (in Simanggang, Bukit Bangunan, and Balai Ringin), but we must have a GPS Parliamentarian to ensure the success of such development for P202.

“That is why we must win and have a GPS representative in P202 Sri Aman,” she said.

Doris exhorted those present to work together irrespective of race, religion and political party to secure the victory.

“For as long the political parties are in GPS and we all are supporting each other we can develop Sri Aman,” she pointed out.

She noted that the land in Sri Aman is fertile and can become a food basket.

“I can imagine the ripple effects when we develop this fertile land for agriculture and food. There be roads, water, electricity and all sorts of infrastructure that can stimulate Sri Aman’s economy.

“So dont missed out of this develoment. It is only another 8 years so (til 2030) til we will be on par with other divisions and it can be a reality to enrich the State or (for Sarawak) to become the richest State in Malaysia,” she said.

Among those present during Doris’ visit were tKetua Kampung and PBB Kampung Muhibah branch chairman, Suhaimi Johan, PBB N32 Simanggang branch deputy head Muhammad Hamzah, and PBB N32 Simanggang branch youth chief Abdul Hisham Ahmad. — DayakDaily
