KUCHING, August 13: Air quality at Industrial Training Institute (ILP) in Miri remained at hazardous levels with an air pollution index (API) of 334 as at 6pm today.
According to data from the Department of Environment, SK Kuala Baram 2 recorded the second worst air quality with an API of 264.
Localised peat fires have largely contributed to the poor air quality in Miri division.
Sri Aman also recorded unhealthy air quality at 133 API.
An API reading of 0-50 shows healthy air quality, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and hazardous for readings exceeding 300.
Meanwhile at Sarikei registered an API of 95, followed by Mukah (86), Sibu and Kuching (79), Bintulu and Miri city (78), Samarahan (74), Samalaju (68), Kapit (62), and Limbang (56). — DayakDaily
