BAU, Sept 28: State Forestry Department seized illegal timber near Jambusan here yesterday (Sept 27).
Enforcement officers from the department raided a premise near here and discovered 33 processed timber and 244 unprocessed short logs of various species at the premise at around 5.15pm.
A spokesperson from the department said the timber had no Sarawak Forestry Department stamps on them, hence the wood was acquired illegally, committing an offence under Section 95(1) of the Sarawak Forest Ordinance 2015.— DayakDaily
