Illegal gambling – Power supply cut off for two premises in Bau

KUCHING, Dec 19: Two premises in Bau had their electricity cut off by authorities for involvement in illegal gambling.

According to Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the cutting off of electricity was done on Dec 18, at 9.30 am, by two Secso personnel together with the police from Bau district Criminal Investigation Department (CID), under Section 21A of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

“The action was taken in order to prevent the premises involved from operating again,” he said in a statement today.


He added the operation was done in front of the caretaker of the premises, without any problem as they were cooperative. –DayakDaily.
