KUCHING, July 18: The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Sarawak Branch – Young Engineers Section (YES) will be organising the National Summit (NATSUM) 2025, set to take place from July 31 to Aug 3, in the culturally vibrant city of Kuching.
Carrying the powerful theme “Empowering Minds, Building Legacies”, this year’s summit aims to inspire and cultivate the next generation of engineering leaders through a unique combination of professional development, cultural immersion, and networking opportunities.
In a media release today, IEM Sarawak stated that 128 participants comprising young graduate engineers and engineering students from IEM branches across Malaysia have registered for the event to date.
A key highlight of the four-day summit will be the prestigious Young Engineers Dinner & Recognition Night on Aug 2, hosted at Theatre Hotel. The event will be graced by guest-of-honour Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Development Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, providing an exclusive platform for industry leaders to engage with Malaysia’s future engineers.
Corporate sponsors and stakeholders are invited to further their engagement by reserving tables at the gala event.
NATSUM 2025 promises a rich blend of technical exposure and cultural discovery. Participants will embark on exclusive technical visits to state-of-the-art facilities such as the Sejingkat Power Plant and Sarawak Metro, gaining firsthand insights into Sarawak’s advanced energy systems and urban transport infrastructure.
Adding to the unique experience, attendees will participate in an immersive excursion to the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV), where they will take part in team-building sessions inspired by Sarawak’s diverse ethnic heritage. Activities will include specially designed games and challenges that fuse engineering strategy with cultural appreciation, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Santubong.
“NATSUM 2025 isn’t just a summit—it’s a milestone in Malaysia’s engineering journey. Join them to empower minds, build legacies, and shape the leaders of tomorrow,” the organising committee said.
The committee also welcomes additional sponsors and partners to join in supporting this landmark event, offering brands an opportunity to be part of a national platform that drives engineering excellence and leadership.
