Idris: Opposition good at turning fly-like issues into dragon-like problems

KUCHING, Dec 11: The opposition is only good at harping on fly-like issues and turning them into dragon-like problems by injecting racial undertone.

This is the assertion of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Datuk Idris Buang who claimed that Democratic Action Party (DAP), Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) are doing this with the hope to destabilise the government so as to create an opportunity for themselves.

“They (DAP/PH/PSB) are only good at insensitively harping on small fly-like issues and trying to turn them into dragon-like or bigger issues by injecting them with racial undertones.

“If that becomes possible, it is their hope that the government of the day would be shakened or destabilised, creating a window of opportunity for them to grab the power to rule,” he told DayakDaily when contacted today.

Idris reminded Sarawakians of the intention and purpose of the opposition.

“Let it be known by all the rakyat that this is the very intention and purpose of the opposition and that is why there are such ‘square-headed, pea-brain’ politicians and their followers who are so fond of playing such issues on social media that have the flavour of racism.

“The police should start investigating, arresting and prosecuting those who have abused the freedom of expression and the law on Facebook and other social media modes,” he opined.

The Muara Tuang assemblyman is responding to DAP Serian branch chairman Brolin Nicholsion who suggested that the Sarawak government should change the name of “Wisma Melayu Sarawak” to “Wisma Kenyalang Sarawak”.

Brolin raised the issue following Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg officiating the earth-breaking ceremony to mark the start of its construction at Jalan Diplomatik here yesterday (Dec 10).

On Brolin’s remarks, Idris said it was not worth commenting.

“Maybe in the meantime, we just see how much more insensible they could be in creating such petty and frivolous political issues which bring no benefit to Sarawak.

“This only goes to show their shallow mindedness and lack of issue,” said Idris.— DayakDaily
