Youth found hanged at work place

KUCHING, Aug 2: A 21-year-old youth was found hanged at the bathroom of his work place at a car wash shop, here, today.

The deceased, from Kampung Moyan Ledang in Asajaya, was found hanged with a nylon strap fastened to a wooden frame at the premise.

According to Kuching police district chief, ACP Awang Din Awang Gani, they received the emergency call at 4.55am.


Police personnel were immediately dispatched to the car wash at Taman Bong Chin, Rock Road. The youth was pronounced dead by medical officers from Sarawak General Hospital.

“The youth was suspected to have committed suicide at the bathroom of his work place.

“According to a witness, he woke up at 4.30am and saw the victim from the door, as he was about to enter the toilet,” Awang Din said when contacted.

The premise was also a rented house for the workers.

Based on initial investigation, there were no signs of foul play or criminal element found. However, messages found in the victim’s mobile phone revealed that he could have killed himself after a failed relationship. — DayakDaily
