Iban artiste’s CBT trial to be held over 3 days in June

KUCHING, March 25: The trial of an Iban artiste, 37, has been fixed for June 13, June 17 and June 18 in the Magistrate’s Court.

He had pleaded not guilty to the two criminal breach of trust (CBT) charges of misappropriating a total of RM43,045.58 belonging to a company, of which he is a partner, last year.


He had allegedly dishonestly misappropriated RM21,974.43 and RM21,071.15 at Hong Leong Bank in Central Park Commercial Centre, on Oct 5, 2018, and Nov 5, 2018, respectively.

Both charges were framed under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries imprisonment of not less than six months and not more than five years and whipping and shall also be liable to a fine, upon conviction.

Magistrate Faelly Jeffery Lanjungan allowed the cash bail of RM5,000 with two local sureties to be extended.

Prosecuting officer Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang and DPP Muhammad Hafiz Musa prosecuted, while the accused is not represented. — DayakDaily
