MIRI, Dec 9: An argument between husband and wife turned physical on Saturday night, leaving the wife with an injured hand.
Following a police report lodged by the 24-year-old victim who lives at Desa Senadin with her husband, police on Sunday afternoon detained the man who is working as a parcel deliveryman.
The suspect was detained at Lorong Palma here around 12.44pm on Sunday.
According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the 25-year-old suspect has been placed into police custody to assist their investigations.
“In the 7pm incident at their house, the couple was involved in an argument which escalated into a physical fight,” Lim said.
During the incident, the husband allegedly grabbed the wife’s left hand and twisted her little finger.
Following the altercation, the wife sought medical treatment at Miri hospital where she was treated as an outpatient.
The case is being investigated under Section 325/326A of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt. —DayakDaily
