MIRI, Dec 9: Firefighters in Baram helped an elderly woman get to Marudi Hospital for treatment after her village was affected by flood, yesterday.

According to Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Miri chief Law Poh Kiong in a statement, they received a call from Marudi Hospital requesting for assistance in transporting an elderly woman from Kampung Nurum in Marudi, Baram, for medical treatment.

Law noted that hospital personnel could not reach her house as access was blocked by flood water.

“Firefighters then used a boat to ferry the woman to a nearby transport vehicle before sending her to the hospital for the treatment,” he added. — DayakDaily.
