SRI AMAN, Sept 4: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been launched to locate 58-year-old Mangka Enting after he failed to return from the forest to hunt at Rumah Rebicca, Lipat Ulu Skrang, here today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 1.10pm, and firefighters from the Betong station were deployed.
According to the incident timeline, the complainant—a family member of the missing person—was informed by another family member around 9am on Thursday (Sept 3) that the missing person had failed to return home after going into the forest to hunt.
The complainant, along with residents of the longhouse and the surrounding area, carried out search efforts. However, they could not locate the missing person.
The SAR team, together with villagers, conducted a search operation within a 2km radius of the location where the victim was reported missing, but failed to locate him.
The operation has been suspended and will resume tomorrow (Sept 5). — DayakDaily
