Hundreds turn out for former Sibuti MP Ahmad Lai Bujang’s funeral

MIRI: More than 300 people including friends and relatives have turned up to pray and bid adieu at Datuk Ahmad Lai Bujang’s funeral at Kampung Luak Mosque today.

Then former Sibuti MP was laid to rest at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Baluboh in Jalan Bakam here after the prayer.


His remains was flown back from the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur around 2.30pm and arrived at the mosque about 5pm.

The late Ahmad Lai, 69, left behind wife Datin Dayang Lily Abang Indeh, six children (four sons and two daughters) and 12 grandchildren.

Among those present were Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) secretary-general Datuk Sebastian Ting, Assistant Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat, Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong, PBB Senadin chairman Cr Julaihi Mohamad and PBB Piasau chairmam Cr Sardon Zainal.— DayakDaily
