KUCHING, May 6: Thirteen swimmers aged eight to 12 from Power Aquatics Swimming Club (PASC) led by their team manager and coaches will compete at the ASUM/NSC/MILO Junior Splash Swim 2018 – Leg 1 meet hosted by the Kuala Lumpur Amateur Swimming Association (PRAKL) at the National Aquatic Centre, Bukit Jalil from May 11 to 13.
Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL) officer Teo Choon Li recently handed over sponsorship on behalf of the company to the club’s assistant treasurer Irene Wee.
The sponsorship is part of HSL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme which is wide-ranging and integrated into their business model. HSL is committed to sustainable, responsible practices and a caring ethos towards its staff and the society at large. They have a dedicated CSR fund, and work closely with charities. They encourage project suggestions, and they encourage their employees to participate in community events.
PASC swimmers recently won 42 medals in the 26th Brunei Age Group Swimming Championship at the Hassanal Bolkiah Swimming Pool, Brunei from April 20-22.
In only its second outing at the event, the team clinched 6 golds, 14 silvers, and 22 bronzes. After the tally, the team was ranked 4th for the total number medals won in the meet.
PASC had sent 12 competitors aged 8 to 12 to participate in the meet, which saw a total of 235 swimmers from 12 swimming clubs from Sarawak, Labuan, Brunei and the Philippines competing with swimmers ranging from 7 to 18-years-old. — DayakDaily
