KUCHING, May 17: Hock Seng Lee (HSL) has unveiled two furnishing packages for Jigsaw, its boutique 11-storey condominium opposite Kuching International Airport, enabling buyers to move in effortlessly with nothing more than a suitcase.
According to a press statement, the Designer package, a RM100 per sq ft add-on, provides a complete interior fit-out developed with long-term collaborator IDC Architects: full-height kitchen cabinetry, fitted wardrobes, sofa set, coffee table, memory-foam mattresses and more. A partnership with Samsung adds television and washer-dryer.
“We aimed for a natural, calming palette — neutral tones drawn from pebbles and light timber, soft grey-washed walls and crisp white ceilings for an airy feel. Natural stones and timber detailing enhance the soothing atmosphere, making each apartment a serene, welcoming home,” said IDC Architects director Tina Lau.
The Standard package, a RM50 per sq ft add-on, offers essential carpentry for owners who wish to introduce their own decor. With this option, the all-in price is RM730 per sq ft. Every unit includes a Samsung washer-dryer under the Basic+ specification (from RM680 per sq ft).
“Both options offer a hassle-free, ready-to-live-in home and can be bundled into a single home loan,” said HSL assistant manager, Sales & Marketing Angie Joan Daniel.
“Our economies of scale across multiple residential projects at HSL mean real savings for homeowners.”
Launched in October 2024, the project brings the award-winning ‘township-within-a-park’ ethos of La Promenade to high-rise living. Completion is targeted for Q1 2026, with vacant possession expected by March, subject to approvals.
The launch comes amid a shortage of new residential stock within five kilometres of the airport.
“With Jigsaw we’ve distilled the most-loved features of La Promenade — Sarawak’s largest gated community — and translated them to vertical living,” said Datuk Paul Yu Chee Hoe, managing director, HSL.
“Extensive landscaping, pocket greens and planter boxes bring the park feel to every level, while striking architecture by Kuala Lumpur-based Konzepte Asia and Sarawak’s IDC anchors the building on the skyline.”
Jigsaw features 117 corner units, 60 per cent of which are three-bedroom layouts exceeding 1,000 sq ft. Amenities include a resort-style pool, gym, landscaped ground floor and secure basement parking — still a rarity in Kuching.
Each unit comes equipped with double-glazed Low-E windows — a first in East Malaysia — that reduce heat gain by up to 65 per cent and lower energy bills. EV-charger-ready bays are provided at basement level, while fibre-to-the-home cabling delivers gigabit broadband to every unit.
It is also strategically located within five minutes’ drive of Saradise and Gala City, and close to private institutions such as Borneo International School and Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus.
Kuching city centre and shopping destinations including Vivacity and The Spring are about 15 minutes away.
Residents will pay a maintenance fee of only 21 sen per sq ft, one of the lowest in East Malaysia. Building access relies on number-plate recognition and QR codes rather than traditional key cards, reflecting HSL’s push for smarter, more convenient security.
According to HSL’s sales team, studio units at Jigsaw have sold out, while Designer and Standard packages have accounted for almost 50 per cent of all units sold since a promotional preview period.
“The fundamentals of Jigsaw are already strong — every unit is a corner unit and all enjoy double glazing and more — and buyers who add the Designer or Standard packages gain further value through custom interiors and refine workmanship of HSL’s fit-out teams,” Angie added.
