KUCHING, July 31: The Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government will be organising the Housing Tribunal Roadshow at Wisma Sanyan, Sibu, from Aug 2 to 3.
In a statement today, the ministry stated that its deputy minister, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, will launch the roadshow on Aug 3.
The roadshow will focus on homebuyers’ rights, methods and procedures for filing cases with the Tribunal for Housing Purchaser Claims Sarawak and the Strata Management Tribunall, and matters related to the purchase of a home.
The ministry said there will also be talks on the establishment of Joint Management Bodies (JMBs) and Management Committees (MCs), as well as private and public affordable housing ownership.
Throughout the two-day roadshow, mini booths will also be open to give visitors, especially house buyers in and around the Sibu area, the opportunity to ask questions and get advice directly from ministry staff and the housing agencies involved.
Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Mutiara Mortgage & Credit Sdn Bhd will be among the government agencies participating in this roadshow.
The public is encouraged to attend to increase their knowledge and awareness of homebuyers’ rights. — DayakDaily
