SERIAN, May 31: With one more day left until the Gawai Dayak celebration, a house in Kampung Panchor Dayak here was razed by fire last night (May 30).
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received the distress call around 9.05pm before dispatching firefighters from Serian and Siburan Fire Stations (BBP) to the scene.
“Upon arrival, we found that a house of 30×20 square feet (sqft) was completely burnt down.
“The firefighters then proceeded to extinguish the fire from spreading to the house next door which is about 150×70 sqft large and has been damaged about 30 per cent in the incident,” it said in a statement today.
All ten residents were safe, and no casualties were reported. — DayakDaily
