KUCHING, Oct 3: Five occupants, including three children, escaped unharmed after their riverside house collapsed at Kampung Bintawa Tengah here today.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that a non-permanent house located along the riverbank had collapsed.

All five occupants—a man, a woman, and three girls—were safe, and no rescue operation was required.

However, firefighters found that an adjacent house occupied by four people was also at risk of collapsing after the collapsed structure struck several of its support posts, leaving the house unstable and unsafe for occupation.

The occupants were advised to take precautionary measures, while firefighters placed safety barriers around the affected house.

The operation, conducted together with the police, ended at 2.14pm. — DayakDaily
