KUCHING, April 12: The owner of a dilapidated house on Lorong 17, Stampin Resettlement Scheme, will receive assistance for roof repairs under the Sarawak Poor Housing Improvement Programme (PPRMS).

According to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, PPRMS is a Sarawak government assistance programme that provides basic facilities and a comfortable residence to those who live below the poverty line or come from low income groups, giving them new hope for a better quality of life.

“This is one of the primary touchpoints of the Sarawak GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) government, which is always concerned with the welfare of the people and prioritises their well-being,” he said in a statement.

The owner of the dilapidated house had asked TR Christopher Chaong to bring his predicament and difficulties to Yap’s attention, as well as to request for funding and assistance to repair his house.

Subsequently, Yap and Penghulu Jakup Buan visited the dilapidated house and met its owner.

They then discussed the matter with representatives of the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM) Sarawak and the Kampung Stampin Baru Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to jointly organise a work party (‘gotong-royong’) under PPRMS to repair and rebuild the roof of the house.

Meanwhile, Yap said his N12 Kota Sentosa service centre is open to anyone experiencing problems in the constituency or who comes across issues of public interest but is unsure how to handle them.

Anyone requiring assistance may contact the service centre at 082-265513 or 011-31893319, or go directly to the service centre at E-2-25, 2nd Floor, Gala Street Mall, Gala City, Jalan Tun Jugah, Kempas Heights, 93350 Kuching, to request for assistance.

Additionally, requests for assistance may also be channeled via community leaders in N12 Kota Sentosa. — DayakDaily
