KUCHING, March 31: Sarawak’s leading online news portal DayakDaily.com (DayakDaily) will launch two new columns tomorrow, namely “Heritage Snippets from Sarawak” and “#ClickBait”.

The column “Heritage Snippets from Sarawak” was kickstarted with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DayakDaily and Friends of Sarawak Museum (FoSM) today at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

The MoU signing preceded the collaboration between Dayakdaily and FoSM where the latter will be contributing an article fortnightly for three years from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2025 to Dayakdaily.

The objective of this collaboration is to provide accurate information with regards to Sarawak’s history and tangible, intangible, built and natural heritage to the general public.

It is also an attempt to generate interest and love for history and heritage among DayakDaily readers to raise their awareness of the importance of understanding history and heritage as part of Sarawakians’ identity.

FoSM will pen the “Heritage Snippets from Sarawak” column on the DayakDaily website.

The MoU signing was witnessed by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

FoSM is a membership-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) registered in Sarawak. It is the first such society established in Sarawak to provide opportunities for the public to be involved in promoting heritage through museums.

Meanwhile, SOCOE Sdn Bhd managing director JW Sam will be penning #ClickBait, a column on technology, IOT, handphones and technopreneurship.

Sam is an enigmatic trailblazer who has returned from the United States of America to create his own Silicon Valley here in Sarawak. His company aims to deliver customised IT solutions and services, e-commerce expertise as well as technical assistance. It is also SOCOE’S mission to empower every layer of society to become a robust participant in the global digital economy.

Sam Wong will pen the “#ClickBait” column on the DayakDaily website starting April 1, 2022.

In May, DayakDaily will kick off its third column which will be penned by a 22-year-old fresh law graduate from the prestigious Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.

During his varsity years, Sidharth Shankar Ram served as Senior Editor for the Cambridge Law Review, an independent, student-run academic law journal. His column for DayakDaily will focus on law, government systems and constitutions.
