KUCHING, Oct 7: Ten districts in Sarawak are expected to experience heavy rain and strong winds until 4pm today.
According to the Malaysia Meteorology Department (METMalaysia) in a Facebook post at 1.20pm today, the affected areas are Kuching (Lundu), Samarahan (Simunjan), Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Subis, Miri, and Marudi), and Limbang.
The department said that the warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm per hour, which is expected to occur close to or more than one hour.

It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
