Heavy lighting activity likely cause of power trip in Sarikei-Tanjung Manis

KUCHING, Oct 18: Heavy lighting activity was likely the cause of a double tripping incidents, which interrupted supply to Sarikei, Tanjung Manis, Daro and the surrounding areas yesterday evening.

According to a statement released by Sarawak Energy, the incident occurred at around 5.41pm and the technical team was immediately deployed.

They were able to safely re-energies the lines and restore supply progressively by 6.25pm.

A subsequent tripping incident involving the Sarikei-Tanjung Manis 132kV line also occurred at 7.06pm, which affected the same area and the lines were re-energised at 7.15pm.

“In order to ensure that the situation is working normally, Sarawak Energy’s technical team will continue to monitor the situation and are on standby for a quick restoration when needed.

“Sarawak Energy also apologises for any inconvenience caused by the incidents.” — DayakDaily
