Heavily pregnant woman, hubby and 8 others caught for drug abuse

MIRI, Mar 2: A eight-month pregnant woman and her husband were among 10 people tested positive for drugs when the National Anti-Drugs Agency (Nada) pounced last night under the Jerayawara `One Stop Committee’ (OSC) program.

The woman, said to be a housewife, is 39 years old and her husband 48.


In all, a total of 21 people, aged between 21 and 48, were rounded up during the operation conducted by personnel from Nada Miri, Bintulu, Limbang, Miri Resident Office, Miri Welfare Department, Rela and Resident Committee (RC) members.

They focussed on Piasau Utara and Pujut 9 areas from 11.15pm yesterday to 12.30am today.

Also among the raiding party were Nada Sarawak deputy director (Prevention) Yuliani Yahya and Nada Miri head Mazlan Jikran. — DayakDaily
