KUCHING, Oct 29: Kuching and Lundu in Sarawak, along with Telupid in Sabah, have recorded alert-level hot weather conditions today.
In an advisory issued today, Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) stated that the Level 1 alert is defined as a daily maximum temperature of 35 to 37 degrees Celsius sustained for at least three consecutive days.
Maximum temperature readings were updated at 6am today.
MetMalaysia’s hot weather alerts are categorised into three levels: Level 1 (Alert) for daily maximum temperatures of 35-37°C, Level 2 (Heat Wave) when temperatures exceed 37°C to 40°C for at least three consecutive days, and Level 3 (Extreme Heat Wave) if temperatures reach 40°C or higher for three consecutive days. — DayakDaily
