Health DG: Two more Covid-19 patients from church cluster in Sarawak

KUCHING, April 26: Two more Covid-19 cases involving the church gathering cluster in Sarawak have been identified, revealed Ministry of Health (MoH) deputy-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

According to Dr Noor Hisham, four other clusters also recorded new active cases, namely in Kampung Baru Flat cluster (2), Pesantren cluster (1), Tabligh Makasar Johor cluster (1) and Muar Hospital cluster (1).

“The church gathering cluster in Kuching, Samarahan and Serian district today recorded two additional Covid-19 positive cases, which bring the total cases to 165 cases,” he said in a press conference in Putrajaya today.


Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham also disclosed that a total of 100 Covid-19 patients have recovered and been discharged today, bringing the cumulative total of recovered patients to 3,862, which is 66.8 per cent from the overall number of Covid-19 patients.

“As of today (April 26, 2020), at 12pm, a total of 38 new cases was also reported, which brings the total number of cases to 5,780.

“Currently, a total of 36 Covid-19 positive cases are being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICUs), whereby 15 of them require respiratory assistance.

“However, the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) also reported that no deaths were recorded for today,” he added. — DayakDaily
