Hawk rescued by 3 police officers after being hit by vehicle in Miri

MIRI, June 28: Three Miri police traffic officers found and rescued a wounded Changeable Hawk-eagle on Monday while conducting a routine traffic check in Permyjaya.

The hawk has been handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) Miri office.

It was believed that the hawk was injured after it was hit by a vehicle while flying low to the ground.

The three officers found it on the roadside adjacent to a spot where they had carried out a roadblock that day.

They them took it to a nearby veterinary clinic for medical treatment, after which they made the decision to hand the protected species over to SFC for further action. — DayakDaily
