Harrowing moment for four after car turns turtle, lands in Batu Kitang drain

KUCHING, June 29: A person was trapped inside a car after the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car turned turtle before landing in a drain at Mile 8, Jalan Batu Kitang just after midnight.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received the emergency call at 0.22am through Malaysian Emergency Response Service 999. A rescue team comprising firefighters and Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRS) personnel was deployed to the scene.


According to a statement issued by the state Bomba operations centre, four people were in the car at the time of the incident. Three of the victims managed to exit the car themselves while the fourth was trapped inside the car.

The firefighters managed to extract the trapped victim who was later given immediate treatment at the scene by the EMRS team.

All the victims were later sent to a hospital for further treatment and Bomba ended the operation at 0.59am. — DayakDaily
