KUCHING, May 6: Half of Jalan Datuk Amar Kalong Ningkan (opposite SK Hardware) will be temporarily closed for 15 days from May 9 until 23 to allow for repair works by the Public Works Department (JKR).
JKR in a statement today said road diversions and closures will only be done during the maintenance work period carried out at the site from 8pm until 5am, to provide space for heavy machinery to perform the work.
The department also assured that the road will be open as soon as possible if the maintenance work can be completed early to facilitate the movement of traffic, and will inform if there are any changes in the date, time or area involved with the maintenance work.
As such, road users are advised to follow the safety signs provided in the affected area, including cooperating and follow the instructions of the traffic guard to facilitate the movement of traffic.
