During the ceremony on Tuesday (April 1), Lee highlighted that the first phase of the project includes the construction of the church and a multipurpose hall, which can accommodate approximately 1,000 congregants.

Looking to the future, he announced that the second phase will see the addition of a classroom block for Sunday school, a meeting room, and other essential facilities for the church.

Acknowledging the need for additional infrastructure, Lee noted, “I will explore the best solutions, including expanding parking areas and promoting the use of public transport, such as free buses.”

He emphasised the Sarawak government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring religious freedom and promoting harmony among Sarawak’s diverse communities.

Right Reverend Bishop Richard Ng also extended his heartfelt thanks to the Sarawak government, Unifor, the donors, and the church community, who all contributed their time, effort, and resources to make the church’s construction a reality. — DayakDaily
