GPS-SUPP Repok assemblyman goes up against young DAP candidate in Sarikei

KUCHING, Nov 5: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Sarikei branch chairman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii (GPS-SUPP) is in a straight fight against Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarikei secretary Roderick Wong Siew Lead in the P208 Sarikei parliamentary seat.

Election Commission (EC) returning officer Kathreen Lalai announced the candidates today at approximately 12.16pm at the nomination centre (PPC) at the Sarikei Auditorium in Sarikei.


Huang, who is also Repok assemblyman, arrived at the PPC at around 8.36am with his proposer Lau Hieng Yueh and seconder Lau Hieng Moon.

Meanwhile, DAP candidate Wong arrived at approximately 8.45am, accompanied by his father and proposer Wong Ling Bui as well as seconder Yew Tai Hui.

The Sarikei incumbent, Wong Ling Biu, is not seeking re-election.

The nomination process went off without a hitch, with approximately 2,000 supporters from both parties in attendance. — DayakDaily
