KUCHING, Oct 24: The GPS-led State government has proven itself to be capable of defending the rights of Sarawak, says Senior Minister of Works Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof.

“We want to make sure GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) can represent the people again, especially in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) when the time (12th State Election) comes. This is not a campaign, I’m only spelling out the facts,” he said today.

Citing the instance of when Pakatan Harapan (PH) was in government and many development projects were cancelled, Fadillah said GPS has been and will continue to focus on Sarawak’s development.

“GPS will continue to strive towards its goal on Sarawak’s infrastructure development while ensuring economic prosperity.

“The most important thing is that GPS can guarantee harmony among the people where unpleasant culture from the other side (Peninsular Malaysia) does not influence Sarawak,” he said during the Malaysian Family Programme in conjunction with presentation of food baskets and aid at SUPP Hall, Sungai Tengah, Matang here today.

A total of 30 residents comprising Chinese, Jawa, and Bidayuh received food baskets totalling RM1,800 while others were provided with specific aid such as wheelchairs, milk, and adult diapers.

Also present during the event was Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman. — DayakDaily
