SRI AMAN, Nov 7: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for P202 Sri Aman, Dato Sri Doris Sophia Brodie, called all women voters to take this ‘golden opportunity’ to vote for her in the 15th General Election (GE15).

“If you want to see the first Iban woman to be a parliamentarian and voice out not only matters pertaining to the constituency and State but also on women’s matters, then I am your right choice,” she said during a meeting today.

“We already have three GPS assemblymen (Simanggang, Bukit Bangunan, and Balai Ringin) in Sri Aman, and to be complete, you must give me the mandate so that this parliamentary constituency is under GPS,” she added.

The Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Women chief said that if Sri Aman is under GPS, it would be easier to carry out development plans.

Therefore, she called out voters, especially women, to elect her as their representative. Doris said she wants them to be 100 per cent in supporting her and in GPS, as their struggles are also her struggles.

“I want strong people (voters) to help me from the back and support me to victory. I want to know that my ‘backbone’ is solid and that these voters are you. So don’t miss this golden opportunity,” she said.

Present at the event were women leaders from GPS component parties of PRS, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) in the State constituencies of Simanggang, Bukit Bangunan, and Balai Ringin. — DayakDaily
