BAU, Dec 12: Voters are urged to get their priorities straight by supporting Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidates in the Dec 18 polls.

In making the call, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said GPS was formed to primarily to look after the affairs of the State and its people.

“For Sarawak, we need a strong and stable government to bring more development and at the same time to look after and protect the interests of State and the people.

“And because of that the people ought to give GPS the mandate this election,” Awang Tengah said.

He pointed out this at the closing of ‘Promisi Keusahawanan (Pembury kuih-muih)’ programme at Kpg Skio, here, which is under Serumbu constituency.

Some 30 participants from Kpg Sigubang, Kpg Seromah and Kpg Skio participated in the programme.

Awang Tengah also said the small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) in the State will never be sidelined, knowing the significant role they have played towards the economic development of the State.

“For SMEs, the GPS government will continue to provide assistance in the forms of grant and loans, and build mini industrial estates at divisional and district levels and building ‘anjung keusahawanan,” he stressed.

On the GPS candidate in Serembu, Awang Tengah said he knew him since the days of the late Datuk Seri James Dawos Mamit.

According to him, Miro has been working hard for the last five years to bring development in the area, thus deserved to be given the mandate this election. — DayakDaily
