GPS candidate in Lanang gets full support from component party branches in Dudong

(From left) Kelvin, Nazatusyima, Joseph Chieng, Wong, Lim and Wee have pledged their support to ensure a win for GPS in the constituency.

SIBU, Nov 8: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for P211 Lanang, Wong Ching Yong has been assured of full support from three component party branches in Dudong.

The branches have pledged to work with Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Dudong to ensure that GPS wrestles the seat from the Opposition.

PDP Dudong chief, Teo Boon Siew through his treasurer, Simon Wee wants nothing more than a win for Wong.

“We in PDP Dudong pledge our full support to Wong. We will collaborate with him in whatever ways we can to make sure GPS wins in the election,” said Wee during Wong’s press conference today.

PDP Bukit Assek chairman, Joseph Lim made a similar pledge.

“We hope young voters will come out to vote for Wong. We will try to contact young voters to support Wong,” assured Lim.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Dudong secretary, Nazatusyima Bujang said the branch machinery will work hard for Wong to win.

“We hope voters in the constituency will vote for Wong so that development can come in,” said Nazatusyima.

Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Dudong Youth chief, Kelvin Ensan said a win for GPS is very crucial as the constituency has been deprived of development during its two-terms under the Opposition.

Kelvin said there is also the pressing need to solve the perennial flooding problem in the area.

“The flood problem in Kampung Sentosa has been there for years as nobody is seeking fund to overcome it. We need funds to upgrade the drains so as to alleviate the problem.

“We hope Wong can win the election so that he could apply for as much funds as possible to solve the flood problem and for basic amenities,” he said. — DayakDaily
