KUCHING, June 4: The parking spaces fronting and within the vicinity of private general practitioner (GP) clinics under Kuching South City Council (MBKS) can be blocked and utilised as wait areas for people coming in to get their Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng has made his rounds today to inspect the parking spaces within its jurisdiction to ensure approved GP clinics have ample space to cater to the public visiting for their vaccine jabs.

“The Council is well aware that clinics may require some space to accommodate public waiting areas.

“The parking spaces within the vicinity may be utilised for that purpose to set up canopies as waiting areas and registration counters so as to provide convenience to the public,” he said in a statement today.

Wee added that MBKS has taken proactive steps to facilitate the State vaccination drive as some GP clinics in its jurisdictions are among the 43 private clinics in Sarawak that have joined the efforts to assist the government in accelerating vaccination among the people.

“The Council will play its role to the best of its capability to facilitate the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

“This is to ensure the smooth roll out of vaccines to the people especially in Kuching city,” he added. — DayakDaily
