KUCHING, Oct 28: A government premises here was among two locations reported today involved in the formation of two new Covid-19 clusters accountable for a total of 81 positive cases.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement, said the new workplace cluster has been named as the Jalan Perimeter Airport Cluster.
Out of a total of 96 individuals screened, 63 of them were found positive, including the index case, while test results for 33 other returned negative.
Meanwhile, the second new cluster, dubbed the Jalan Demak Indah Cluster, is a community cluster involving residents from a government housing complex located at Jalan Demak Indah, Kuching.
All 18 individuals tested in relation to this cluster were found positive for Covid-19, including the index case.
SDMC added all positive cases form both clusters were referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), including to Covid-19 low-risk treatment and quarantine centres (PKRC) and the Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) in Kuching, for further treatment and isolation.
Meanwhile, SDMC said the Kampung Sikog Cluster in Kuching and Chama Ajai Cluster in Beluru, have ended today after zero new cases were recorded in the past 28 days.
With this, Sarawak currently has 34 active clusters. — DayakDaily
