KUCHING, May 30: The Malaysian government has decided not to allow recipients to choose their preferred Covid-19 vaccine.

On May 27, National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the government was considering allowing recipients to choose the vaccines and that the MySejahtera app could be updated to include such feature.

“Initially we thought of allowing it, but this will slow things down. Our main focus right now is to increase and hasten the vaccination process.

“So I have decided that as far as the policy is concerned, we will just give whatever we have,” he asserted.

He also gave assurance that new features such as for pregnant or breastfeeding women will be available on the MySejahtera App very soon.

The other features will include enabling recipients to change the date or venue for their vaccination appointment. — DayakDaily
