KUCHING, April 2: A warm and festive atmosphere filled the 2025 Aidilfitri gathering hosted by Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and his wife Datuk Fatimah Iskandar at the DUS Complex today.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, the event was graced by the presence of Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
The celebration began with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, marking the spirit of Syawal in harmony and unity.
A special gift presentation was also held as a token of appreciation for Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Guests were treated to an array of traditional Hari Raya delicacies, including lemang, ketupat, rendang, and an assortment of local kuih, enhancing the festive cheer.
Beyond the feast, attendees enjoyed musical performances and cultural dances that showcased Sarawak’s rich heritage.
Also in attendance were Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and other leaders.
Thereafter, Premier also visited the open house house hosted by Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah at her residence. — DayakDaily
