MIRI, Jan 18: Two men, with one of them pretending to be injured, robbed a sexagenarian at her home — a quadruplex unit — at Permyjaya here on Monday (Jan 14).

The robbers must have thought they had `earned’ RM400 from their criminal act, but unfortunately for them, their victim has a good memory for numbers — she remembered their motorcycle plate number!

This led police to arrest one of the suspects the following day.

That suspect is now being detained at Miri Central Police Station to facilitate the investigation.

The incident on Monday unfolded at about 6pm when two strangers approached their victim purportedly for cotton bandage as one of them claimed he was “injured”.

Concerned for the `injured” stranger, the woman walked into a room to look for a cotton bandage.

As she was busy looking for it, the suspects searched the woman’s room, found RM400 and immediately fled the scene on a motorcycle.— DayakDaily
